Team Vs Leicester?
Would you keep the same XI that did so well against Arsenal?

Would you keep Oxford in the team?

Is Obiang close to a start?

For me:

................................ Adrian

Jenkinson - Reid - Ogbonna - Cresswell

....................... Obiang or Oxford
..........Noble ............................ Kouyate......

.................. Payet.................. Zarate ...........
............................... Sakho ............................

Tough on Zarate and probably unlikely, but what about this?

Adrian

Tomkins - Reid - Ogbonna

Jenkinson - Noble - Kouyate - Oxford - Cresswell

Payate

Sakho

It may seem very defensive, but there is actually a lot of attacking intent there.

Same again please boss.

Keep Oxford in for a few games and give the lad a rest over Xmas.

Huge ask for a 16 year old to play more than 15-20 times this season I'm sure against the physical specimens that modern footballers are nowadays, though then again he made it look like a piece of puss on Sunday.

Sadly I'm already dreading the next few transfer Windows when the big boys start circling.

COYI, make sure he stays with success.

I think there'll be teams that look to be a lot more physical with him than arsenal were!

Saturday might be one of them looking forward to the game!

In terms of 'handling' it or not

I think if you make your debut at the Emirates at 16 years old in a 2-0 win then Leicester at home is a formality

Re: Team Vs Leicester?
Is this going to be a game that will suit oxford? Arsenal fitted him perfectly as he was able to sit deep and battle against a midfield that although technically is the best in the prem, strength wise are very weak. This game we will definitely be expecting us to go at them more so I just wonder whether Oxford will be switched for a more attacking player with Noble sitting deeper instead?

We are really strong in the central defence area now, 3 really good centre backs and decent back up with Collins.

We do really need to strengthen the middle of the park without Song, Downing and the likely departures of Amalfitano and Nolan. Obiang may prove a good buy and the emergence of Oxford fantastic. Perhaps Poyet will get his chance but I would like to see one more come in.

I didn't say I would drop Reid for Tomkins, I suggested that if you really wanted Tomkins to play, it would be for Reid and not Ogbonna or Jenkinson. That's because Jenkinson is a natural right back, and Ogbonna is a natural left sided centre back. Also Reid is not very comfortable on the left. He often slcies his clearances out of play when he uses his left.

Tomkins could play in Oxford's position though, from time to time. He has some experience there.

Reid is our best centre back. Reid was man of the match on Sunday. We kept a clean sheet. Reid can play left or right side. Ogbonna was very impressive too.

I can understand the argument to bring in Jenkinson at right back for Tomkins although it would be a little harsh on Tomkins as he was excellent. But why would you drop Reid to accommodate Tomkins? That would be a ridiculous decision.

“Ogbonna is more secure as he a lefty”

Sorry, you do talk some twaddle.

Twaddle?

Bilic prefers the left sided CB to be a left footed player, and has signed and played a left footed CB in his first starting 11. Why is it twaddle to suggest Ogbonna's place is more secure, providing his form doesn't turn to shit?

Re: Team Vs Leicester?
Think Leicester will be a very different game. They will be happy to sit back and try and hit us on the counter. We have to take advantage of their defending as against Sunderland it looked just as bad as last season. Have a feeling this will be a good one.

Re: Team Vs Leicester?
Probably just change Jenkinson for Tomkins.

Not too many games at this stage of the season so some are going to have to display more patience than Zarate did last year, if everyone stays fit and we carry on getting good results.

The squad as a whole will become more important when the cups and midweek games kick in. We'll be grateful for 4 central defenders who can all play, and numerous midfielders. Those not included now will just have to bide their time and wait for an opportunity.

Might be tempted to manage Oxford's workload and number of appearances. Yes he's definitely good enough as proven, but he's still so young and we don't want to over use him and risk burnout or injury. Would consider putting Obiang or Poyet in, instead.

Re: Team Vs Leicester?
We play our best football in that shape thats why

If we can contain Arsenal and exploit them at the back why cant we against Leicester ?

I would like 2 up top to stretch the slow CB pairing of Morgan and Huth

I would also like the ball to go out wide to De Laet as i dont think his delivery is too good

I would also like our midfeld to be narrow and to press theirs as i dont believe they posess great ability on the ball

Finally, i would like the holding midfielder in there to pick up the runs from Mahrez who is their best player. The centre backs will be occupied with the two up top they play.

Re: Team Vs Leicester?
Why would you play the same shape as a game where we set up to contain Arsenal against one where we will be looking at having more possession in attacking areas and the threat (lesser as it is) from the opposition is not the same.

I blame the soccer manager generation

Same side, same shape but Jenks in for Tomks as offers more going forward

Frankly I have no idea

No player deserves to be dropped but I would think Bilic will make changes with Tomkins and Oxford dropping out.

I just wonder by Bilic's subs that Jarvis might play.
I hope not but he got 30 mins and we didn't concede !!!
How did Jarvis play?

Re: Team Vs Leicester?
Leicester will be a totally different game.
We will be expected to and will have to attack more.
Thus Jenkinson will play right back.
Will Lanzini start, not sure we can afford both Zarate and Lanzini, they will need to work their bollocks off and not be bullied, both are a bit light weight.maybe Obiang could be ready by then. Not sure if he is an attacking threat or more defensive.
